well if it’s a law of nature any half-decent creator might have had the decency to write it down somewhere. One day i’ll go back through these and work out which articles they applied to, but right now i should be getting my beauty sleep.

a recurring theme: the fundamental importance of the gift that is scientific endeavour.
Case in point was when an acquaintance of mine explained to me how fundamentally, if all research physicists were wiped out in a freak tea-break-related incident tomorrow lunchtime the world wouldn’t really notice. The disproofs of this are many fold, but most of them take a month or more to really kick in.
